Our October monthly webinar program features what is sure to be an engaging discussion of home rule principles in the context of a case study of the Six Brothers v. Town of Brookline case. The case, decided earlier this year by the Supreme Judicial Court, involved Brookline’s successful defense of a town bylaw banning tobacco sales to anyone born after January 1, 2000.
Our panel includes John Buchheit, Associate Town Counsel for the Town of Brookline, Professor Mark Gottlieb, Executive Director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute at Northeastern University School of Law, Maura O’Keefe, Town Counsel for the Town of Falmouth, and James Timmins, City Solicitor for the City of Quincy.
This free program is open to all our members and any of your interested local officials. Registration is now open.
Meeting and program materials links will be sent via email to all registrants the week of the program.
