    The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant City Solicitor I to join the fast-paced, high-volume collaborative and congenial Law Department. Under the direction of the City Solicitor, the attorney will provide competent and timely legal services, advice, and recommendations to the City Manager, City Council and the City’s officers, employees, boards, and commissions. The Assistant City Solicitor will work in both the Advice and Counsel and Litigation Divisions of the Law Department. Advice and Counsel attorneys render legal opinions to City officers, departments, boards, and commissions, prepares responses to public records requests, drafts legal documents such as ordinances, legislative acts, and the review/drafting of contracts. The candidate will also provide litigation services in which the candidate will be advocating on behalf of the city in administrative hearings and state courts.

    The City of Newton Law Department is seeking a Senior Assistant City Solicitor for Labor and Employment who will serve as the chief of the Law Department’s Labor and Employment practice group. The Labor and Employment group is responsible for providing legal advice, risk management and compliance strategy to City departments in all matters related to public sector employment matters, workplace initiatives, problem-solving, and planning. This includes negotiating, interpreting, and enforcing collective bargaining agreements. The Senior Assistant City Solicitor will oversee, manage and lead a practice group of 2-3 attorneys and serve as a lead negotiator and representative with the City’s nine (9) collective bargaining units.

This is an opportunity to use your legal and leadership skills to support and guide Boston Public Schools' critical work to serve our students, residents, and community. The Legal Advisor will provide counsel to the Superintendent, the School Committee, and staff and lead the Office of the Legal Advisor at BPS. The Office of the Legal Advisor handles a wide variety of legal matters, including advising clients on operations and decisions, litigating employment, civil rights, and torts cases in Superior Court and Federal District Court, handling appeals of educational plans, and negotiating and reviewing contracts and other agreements.     The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant City Solicitor- Litigation Supervisor to join the fast-paced, high-volume collaborative and congenial Law Department to provide competent and timely legal services in the Litigation Division of the Law Department. Under the general supervision of the City Solicitor, the position will defend the City in state and federal courts and will also advocate on behalf of the City in civil litigation, criminal, and administrative law matters. The position will liaise with outside counsel retained to represent the City in litigation matters and will work to retain and oversee industry experts hired by the City for counsel in litigation cases and perform analysis of cases for appropriate and fair dispositions. Additionally, the employee will manage a small group of Litigation Attorneys and a Claims Agent to complete assigned work.

    The MWRA is seeking a Senior Staff Counsel – Labor & Employment to handle legal matters in the areas of labor and employment law.
